Looking back Susan says she knows now that she went to nursing school so she could eventually become a nurse midwife. She is one of the first Nurse Midwives’ to practice at Women’s Health Institute and in Taos.
Susan loves that Taos is a small town with a small town community feeling, but that it also offers many things small town’s lack. She says she really enjoys the tri-cultural heritage here. She plans to continue providing excellent women’s health care to residence in Taos until she retires.
Susan is married to her high school sweetheart. Together they have a daughter and a son who are grown and out of the house. She says they are what she is most proud of. She has two cats that she fostered from Stray Hearts and couldn’t imagine her life without them.
Although she was born in Chillicothe, OH Susan grew up in Taichung, Taiwan. She completed her undergrad degree from Ohio State University in Columbus, OH and a Master’s Degree in Maternal Child Health from Texas Woman’s University. Susan completed the Midwifery program from Parkland School of Nurse-Midwifery in Dallas, TX.
