Nursing Assistant

Holy Cross Medical Center is hiring Full Time Nursing Assistants to provide essential support to our nursing team. This role plays a key part in delivering safe, compassionate, and respectful patient care. As an added benefit, we offer support to help you become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) while you work, though this is not required to apply.

About the Role

The Nursing Assistant performs a variety of patient care activities, helping ensure patient safety, dignity, and comfort. This position requires professionalism, compassion, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily care needs such as bathing, grooming, feeding, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs using standard medical equipment
• Support nurses with basic clinical tasks and documentation
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized care environment
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the healthcare team
• Document care in electronic health records (EHR)

Requirements

• Experience: One (1) year Nursing Assistant experience, preferably in a hospital setting
• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Skills & Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of patient care practices and basic anatomy
  • Ability to use standard medical equipment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with EHR systems
  • Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
  • Compassionate and adaptable to the needs of a rural healthcare setting
  • Positive employment history with strong references
