Electronic Medical Record Transition

Holy Cross Medical Center is launching a new Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system on June 1st, 2026. This hospital and clinic-wide upgrade is part of a larger effort to improve how we provide care, communicate with patients, and coordinate services across our healthcare network.

Please Excuse our Progress

You may experience longer wait times or delays and requests to re-verify your patient information.

Your patient portal will be changing!

This new system represents a major investment in the future of care at Holy Cross. Over time, it will help our providers and care teams access patient information more efficiently, improve coordination between departments and clinics, and support better communication across the healthcare network.

The new EMR is being implemented across:

  • Holy Cross Cardiology
  • Holy Cross Hospital
  • Holy Cross Orthopedics
  • Holy Cross Primary Care
  • Holy Cross Surgical Specialties
  • Holy Cross Women’s Health Institute
  • Taos Clinic for Children and Youth

Why We Are Making This Change

Holy Cross Medical Center is upgrading to a new EMR system to better support patients, providers, and staff across the hospital and clinics.

This has been a multi-year process involving teams throughout the organization. Before selecting a new system, Holy Cross carefully reviewed three leading EMR options for rural hospitals to determine which would best support our patients, staff, providers, and long-term goals. After thoughtful evaluation, Holy Cross selected MEDITECH Expanse as the best fit for our healthcare system.

The new system will help improve how care teams access important health information, including medical history, medications, allergies, lab results, imaging, and other details that support informed decision-making. It will also help strengthen communication between Holy Cross and other local care providers, supporting smoother referrals, stronger follow-up, and more coordinated care.

This upgrade is part of Holy Cross’s ongoing commitment to improving care and meeting the needs of the community.

What Patients Can Expect

As Holy Cross completes this transition, some visits, calls, or registration processes may take a little longer than usual. Patients may also be asked to confirm personal information, insurance details, or payment methods.

These steps will help ensure that patient records are accurate and complete in the new system. Please be patient with our staff while undergoing this transition.

New Patient Portal

As part of the EMR transition, Holy Cross will also launch a new patient portal. The new portal will replace MyCareCorner, the current Holy Cross patient portal.

The new portal will give patients one access point for the hospital and participating clinic locations. Through the portal, patients will be able to:

  • Request and schedule appointments
  • Review upcoming appointments, including location details
  • Complete registration forms before visits
  • Securely communicate with physicians and medical teams
  • Attend virtual visits
  • Request prescription renewals
  • Review test or exam results
  • Access current stay and discharge information
  • Pay bills online

Important Information About MyCareCorner (The Current Patient Portal)

Information from MyCareCorner will not transfer into the new patient portal.

MyCareCorner will remain available, but technical support will end on June 1st, 2026. After June 1st, 2026, Holy Cross will no longer be able to assist patients with accessing their MyCareCorner accounts.

Patients are encouraged to download or save any important information they would like to keep from MyCareCorner.
