Marie Sanchez, CPNP-PC

Marie Sanchez is a Nurse Practitioner specifically trained in pediatric medicine (CPNP-PC). She is trained to specialize in patients from birth to 18 years of age. She is a Native New Mexican who grew up in Belen, NM. She was interested in medicine since she was 4 years old, when she decided to memorize all of the bones in the human body, but she only had access to a diagram of a pig, so that was her early study guide.
Marie has always had a passion for medicine, a passion that fills her heart and consumes her. She also loves chemistry and physics, along with literature and psychology. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemisty, a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing with a minor in Psychology and a Master’s of Science in Pediatric Nursing, all with honors, from the University of New Mexico.
She grew up in New Mexico and has a respect and reverence for cultural diversity. She believes in holistic medicine and has a wide breath of knowledge. She believes in truly listening to a patient and every patient has a story unique to their experience but also one that may unify diversities. She worked at the University of New Mexico Hospital for many years and loved acute care adult medicine but eventually wanted to transition to preventative medicine.
She absolutely loves helping families and aims to build resiliency for children and families. She is interested in working within the community and helping children and families grow and thrive. She believes in preventative medicine and early interventions. She enjoys seeing all age groups from newborns to adolescents. She believes in beginning care before problems arise and embracing wellness.
In her free time, does she have free time? She has a passion for travel and the outdoors. She previously lived in England and Chicago and loves traveling. She believes in the beauty of traveling. She believes her travels enrich her as a person and help her serve her community from a diverse background of knowledge. She loves hiking and snowboarding, but would like to transition to skiing. She enjoys reading and started a book club in Taos with a physician friend. She loves community and hopes to be part of the Taos community and call Taos home.
Ultimately, she loves seeing children and families grow and thrive. She loves seeing babies smile and little girls want to be astronauts and little boys want to be artists or fireman. She is here to help support our community. She has been a Nurse Practitioner in Taos since 2022 and has fallen in love with the families and beauty of Taos. She hopes she will be beneficial to her patients, families, and the community at large.
