Food Service Worker

Holy Cross Medical Center is hiring a Food Service Worker to help prepare and serve meals for patients, employees and hospital visitors. This position is an important part of providing dependable food service and a positive experience for everyone we serve.

About the Role

The Food Service Worker performs a variety of duties related to cafeteria and patient meal services. Depending on the assignment, responsibilities may also include preparing specialty coffee beverages and gourmet food items, operating the kiosk and recording income.

This position requires excellent customer service, careful attention to food safety and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for cafeteria and patient meal services
• Serve patients, employees and visitors on the cafeteria line
• Prepare specialty coffee beverages and gourmet food items as assigned
• Collect, deposit and accurately record kiosk income
• Clean and sanitize food-preparation, service and work areas
• Follow established Food and Nutrition Department policies and procedures
• Notify the supervisor when assigned duties have been completed
• Provide courteous, high-quality customer service

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Experience: At least one year of food-preparation experience required; two to three years preferred
• Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to follow established food-preparation and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work effectively with patients, employees and hospital visitors
  • Dependability and attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a busy food-service team
