This is a spinning feeling, loss of balance and nausea often triggered by quick head movements. It is a symptom not a disease. The most common type is known as Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo or BPPV. It is caused by the displacement of very small crystals found in the canals of the inner ear. A sudden head movement or blow to the head can cause this displacement and can result in Vertigo. There are other causes. Our qualified Physical Therapists are able to assess the BPPV and provide treatment directed at repositioning the crystals and include home exercises to control or eliminate the condition.
