Rehabilitation following a joint replacement is essential for the success of the procedure. Shoulders, hips, knees and ankles are the most commonly replaced joints. The rehabilitation goals are very similar for all of the replacements: Control pain, restore ROM and functional strength, return to activity. Our Physical and Occupational Therapists work closely with area Orthopedic surgeons. If your surgery is done at Holy Cross Hospital you will begin your rehabilitation on the day of surgery with one of our therapists. You can continue your rehabilitation at our outpatient clinic where your therapist will help you develop an individualized plan for your unique needs and lifestyle.
