Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar Fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain and is caused by repetitive strain injury to the ligament of the sole of the foot. Physical Therapists will assess foot/ankle alignment, muscle flexibility, joint restrictions and abnormal movement patterns that can cause plantar fasciitis pain. Individualized treatment based on findings in the evaluation can include stretching, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, taping techniques, exercise prescriptions, facilitation to improve movement patterns and education in self treatment strategies.
