Inflammatory Conditions

Your body’s immune response is triggered by tissue damage. It creates local inflammation, a sign that damage control has commenced and healing is underway. It is normal and is the first phase of healing. Appropriate acute inflammation resolves rapidly. Unfortunately the immune system occasionally overreacts or completely “misreads” a threat and creates chronic or generalized inflammation, essentially creating problems where none existed. This is known as an autoimmune response. Some common examples include Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Multiple Sclerosis and Psoriasis. There are many others. Joint pain and stiffness, neurological complications and functional loss can be involved. We have a group of therapists with strong backgrounds in the assessment and treatment of chronic inflammatory conditions
