The 11th Annual For the Health of It! Join The Fight Against Cancer in Taos

Just the word “cancer”, as a diagnosis, weighs heavily on us and with the closest treatments are often in Santa Fe or Albuquerque there can be added stressors of transportation, fuel, lodging, and certainly the need for emotional strengthening. Holy Cross Cancer Support Services in Taos is here to help meet basic needs, ease stress, promote healing, and improve the quality of life by offering financial, emotional and transportation services to patients and their caregivers battling cancer in Taos and Western Colfax Counties.  In 2020, CSS provided support for 125 of our community members in their battle with cancer.

Our free services are made possible through the generous support of our community. One of the ways you can support Cancer Support Services is by to taking part in the “For The Health of It!” Cancer Support Virtual Walk on June 25th-27th. Due to continued COVID-19 health concerns our virtual format will allow flexibility as to when and where people walk. “For The Health of It!” strengthens our Taos community spirit as we rally around those living with cancer while generating crucial funds to support Cancer Support Services.  Our annual event is always a fun way for the Taos community to get outside, have fun, and support the efforts of Cancer Support Services. All donations go directly to supporting those battling cancer and their caregivers.

Last year, we had almost 200 walkers register for FTHOI and we would love to see even more participants this year! This year, you can also choose to be a CSS Champion and register to collect pledges. Our top three pledge earners will win great prizes including a night at a Heritage Resort Hotel, or a round of golf for two at the Taos Country Club.  Pledging is a great way to amplify the benefit of your walk!
