Over $400,000 in Patient Debt Forgiven by Holy Cross Hospital, Thanks to Generous Donors

Holy Cross Hospital provides emergency treatment to all patients, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay, 24/7. The hospital’s billing department works with uninsured and low-income individuals to navigate unexpected medical expenses and find financial assistance. Programs like Holy Cross Benefit Navigation, which assisted over 2,000 people in 2024 with health insurance enrollment support, and Holy Cross’ Patient Advocacy further supports individuals through their healthcare journey. To alleviate medical debt, the hospital’s Medical Debt Relief Fund, supported by local donations, helped clear $400,734 of unpaid bills for 342 patients in 2024, turning every $100 donation into $3,333 of debt relief.
